A street fair held in the Cass Corridor, Detroit, on the Saturday after Labor Day since 1978. Sponsorship-free and run by volunteers from the North Cass Community Union, this one-day event features local music, food, beer, art, vendors, and a kids fair.
It’s free! Keeping it that way without sponsors is a balancing act, which is why we ask for donations, and all beer/merch/tips proceeds go to running next year’s festival.
Parking is very limited! Metered street parking is available throughout the neighborhood, but it fills up fast. We encourage attendees to use other forms of transportation, like rideshares, if possible. Our East entrance is just two blocks from the Canfield St QLine stop. For those traveling from afar, paid parking lots at one of the major institutions nearby is a decent option.
Only weapons and outside alcohol are strictly prohibited at Dally in the Alley.
Additional items or behaviors that violate laws, festival rules, or threaten public safety (such as dangerous objects, disruptive conduct, illegal substances, or unauthorized vending) are not permitted and may result in ejection at staff discretion. Security may ask to check your bags and belongings for any prohibited items. If in doubt, leave it at home!
Our main merch booth, open for the duration of the festival, is located in the same garage as the East alley beer booth next to the Garden Party. During the day, we also have a merch tent in front of our office on 2nd Ave just south of Forest Ave.
